LONDON: [SindhWeek.Com Report] World Sindhi Congress (WSC) and other Baloch organizations jointly organized a protest demonstration against disappearance of Dr Safdar Sarki , on Feb 25, 2007, 12-3 pm @ Opposite 10, Downing Street (nearest tube station: Westminster). According to WSC, Pakistani secret agencies on 24 Feb 2006, kidnapped Dr. Safdar Sarki, the Secretary General of Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz (JSQM) and former Chairman of WSC from his flat in Karachi . A year has gone since and his whereabouts are still unknown. He has not been produced in any court of law neither his family members were allowed to visit him. His family and friends believe that his life is in danger. The purpose of protest was the immediate release of Dr. Sarki in addition to all other Sindhi and Baloch political activists.
The protest demonstration which was staged in front of official residence of prime minister of UK here, attended by, among others, Dr Haleem Bhatti, chairman (WSC), Ms Surrayia Makhdoom, vice chairman, WSC, Lakhumal Lohano, General Secretary, WSC, Hiddayat Bhutto, UK Organizer ,WSC, Noor Nabi Soomro, Qadir Bux Jatoi besides Baloch leaders Abdullah Baloch, Nooruddin Mengal – a grandson of Sardar Attaullah Mengal, Mir Hussain Baloch and others. At the end, a memorandum was presented to the Secretary of PM.
