Call for Submissions to the 29th International Conference on Sindh

World Sindhi Congress (WSC) in a press statement announced its 29th International Conference on Sindh. The conference will be held in London on October 28th, 2017. The title of the conference is ‘National Self-Determination: Struggle for Human Rights and Regional Peace’.

The conference will focus on the Sindhi nation’s Right to Self-determination, the rights situation in Sindh and its effects on regional peace. With growing influence of China in Pakistan in the form of the CPEC (China Pakistan Economic Corridor) project, which has major influence in Sindh, it is very critical for the Sindhi Self Determination movement to analyse its impacts. Unlike western democracies which had a significant influence on the country in the past, China has no regard to the Right to Self Determination of sovereign nations and fundamental human rights.
The conference will also focus on ongoing operations of state secret agencies to kidnap political and social activists without prosecuting in any court of the country. It will further discuss the role of the State, which is systematically promoting fanatical religious organizations which are banned in the country and internationally. Sindhi rights movement which is inherently secular can be deterrent to religious outfits and their plans to destroy the plural and peaceful culture of Sindh.
WSC is inviting academics, human rights practitioners, political and social analysts and policy makers from inside and outside Sindh to submit conference papers and presentations to this annual conference. Submitted proposals must contain proposed title, abstract and brief relevant bio of the author(s). All proposals must be sent via email to WorldSindhiCongress@gmail.com before 7th of October 2017.
