Education Challenges of Sindh – Asghar Soomro

Asghar Soomro has been working in the arena of development sector for last thirteen years. Currently Mr. Soomro is working as a Head of Programs on Education Fund for Sindh funded by Department for International Development-DFID. Prior to this he worked with SZABIST as a short-term consultant to support the Reform Support Unit, Education and Literacy Department, Govt of Sindh in the development of Sindh Education Sector Plan (2013-15) and at the same time he was an advisor at Social Policy and Development Centre, Karachi where he worked on impact of the 18th amendment to constitution of Pakistan. Previously, he had been associated with American Institute of Research, British Council and Sindh Education Foundation. He has an excellent understanding of socio-political as well as educational issues of Pakistan in general and Sindh in particular. He used to conduct a live program on current affairs on KTN NEWS, a Sindhi language TV channel and contributes to leading English Newspapers of Pakistan on educational problems.
